A Trip To The Toy Store

We made a trip to the toy store to spend the boy's $20 gift cards that they got for Xmas, saved for a rainy day. In this case the rain was both figurative and essentially inapplicable. Let's just say that one of the two was alleviating "rain", while the other was celebrating a certain "potty achievement". So anyway... Max picked out two new trains for the "blue track", Mavis and Toby, which also came with some cars, and Emmett - The Puzzle Master - picked up two new puzzles, one Thomas puzzle and one Clifford puzzle. The Clifford puzzle was cheap. The Thomas puzzle relatively wasn't, but is large and of high quality so you don't really end up feeling ripped off. The boys had to get through supper before being able to get home to fully test out their new acquisitions, but they did get to take the engines, and only the engines, with them into the restaurant. They didn't eat a lot, but perhaps more than can be expected under the circustances. Finally we got home. Before the night was done they had played with the trains and Emmett had done the Thomas puzzle twice and the Clifford puzzle once. Max went to bed with Toby looking over him, Emmett with Mavis. It was a good day.

Whoa!

Emmett said tonight on our way to dinner that when he showed his new shoes to his friend Garrett at school, Garrett said, "Whoa!" Needless to say, the text can't match Emmett saying it.

The Shoes

Here's the shoes

Emmett Got New Shoes

Emmett got new Thomas the tank Engine tennis shoes yesterday. He got his stories that night with his PJ's and his shoes on. He would have worn them to bed if he could have. He got up this morning at about 4:30 AM, of course wanting to put his shoes on. Someone needs to get Max the same shoes for his birthday or there could be a cataclysmic happening.
